JamPayroll+ was not born in a boardroom. It was born out of personal frustration. The founder is a Jamaican entrepreneur living in the United States who owns and operates multiple businesses in Jamaica — an accounting and bookkeeping firm, a virtual assistant company, Barefoot Jamaica — a travel experience company, and Nuts About Bolts and More — a hardware business. Managing payroll across those businesses meant wrestling with tools that were never built for the realities of Jamaican labour law — the time off accrual rules, the 110-day qualifying period, statutory deductions, and all the nuances that make Jamaican payroll uniquely complex.

The solution was always a workaround. One piece of software here. Another tool there. Numerous Excel spreadsheets patched together to fill the gaps. Paying for this, adapting that, and never finding anything that handled the full picture the way Jamaica actually works. With over 30 years of accounting experience managing payroll across the United States and Jamaica, the frustration was not just personal — it was professional. She knew exactly what was missing because she had spent decades working around it.

The tools that existed for time tracking, leave management, and performance evaluation were built for large enterprises or international markets. They did not understand Jamaica Labour Code. They were not built for the Jamaican business owner managing real Jamaican teams. So rather than continue adapting to tools that were never built for us, she built a tool that was.

JamPayroll Solutions+ was co-founded by two cousins — Irish twins, just seven days apart — who between them brought the perfect combination of skills to the table. Deep functional knowledge of accounting, payroll, and Jamaican statutory compliance on one side. Software development expertise and project management discipline on the other. Two perspectives. One shared mission.
